Castellar de la Frontera
Tourism of Castellar de la Frontera
What we found
The town of Castellar de la Frontera is a welcoming place full of heritage and natural beauty — a charming village to visit and explore in depth. It played a key role in the medieval history of the Campo de Gibraltar region thanks to its strategic location, which led to the construction of its castle, where the population lived until 1972, the year when the “new town” was inaugurated — a milestone in its recent history.
The local council is firmly committed to the town’s tourism development — one that is responsible, sustainable, and respectful of its heritage. To achieve this, they needed a brand aligned with their vision and goals.
What we contributed
The goal was to provide the Tourism Department with an effective tool to promote and develop the town’s tourism potential. To achieve this, we created a brand rich in meaning yet simple to understand and flexible in its applications. The town’s vast historical and natural heritage served as the foundation for a brand designed with a single purpose: to represent a community that offers visitors and residents alike plenty to enjoy in exchange for very little.
We designed an illustrative logo that brings together all the elements that define the town — its three historic population centres: the castle, the new town, and La Almoraima — framed between two key dates in its history: 1434, the year of its final conquest by Christian forces, and 1972, when the entire population improved their living conditions by moving to the new town.
The tagline “Heritage and Nature” perfectly encapsulates the unique charm of a town that looks to the future with its feet firmly rooted in its past.
